Mask up, kiddo!
Covid is over, isn’t it? Life is back to normal?
I’ve been reading The Psychology of Totalitarianism by Dr. Mattias Desmet, where he argues that the Covid-craze can be explained by mass-hypnosis. One of the characteristics of mass-hypnosis is that reality ceases to affect the beliefs of the hypnotized, even to the point where the more absurd the narrative they believe gets, the stronger their attachment to it becomes.
As sound as Desmet’s reasoning is, I must admit I sometimes have moments of disbelief, asking myself, despite everything, if it is really possible this is happening. Covid is over, isn’t it? Life is back to normal?
But then I see things like this, a photo a friend sent me the other day, of a Canadian mother and her young daughter getting ready for a flight in a major European airport.

Here in NZ people are still doing the “wear a mask to walk into a cafe and back out again but take it off when sitting down” nonsense. I had to suffer this Covid theatre today with family out for lunch 😩
With a nice handy blower blasting out warm air to help those bugs float around! It is like a freakshow pantomime.
